[Saba Sports News] Liverpool have officially announced that they have signed a long-term contract extension with 23-year-old Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch. The new deal between Liverpool and Gravenberch will run until 2032, with a total value of over €100 million across six years. In addition, Gravenberch will be eligible for extra bonuses based on his performances. Gravenberch joined Liverpool from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023 for a transfer fee of €40 million. Since arriving at Liverpool, he has made 123 appearances for the club, scoring 8 goals and providing 12 assists. He won the 2024–25 Premier League title and the 2023–24 EFL Cup with the team. Gravenberch’s current market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €90 million.
The editor believes that Gravenberch struggled to establish himself in Liverpool’s midfield when he first joined the club. However, under the guidance of manager Arne Slot, he has delivered steady performances in the defensive midfield position. During the 2024–25 season, he missed only one match as Liverpool won the Premier League title, and he was named the Premier League Young Player of the Year. Now, Liverpool’s decision to offer him a new contract is a full recognition of his performances by the club.
