[Saba Sports News] In what was an unbelievable morning session on Day 1 of the second Test for India, South Africa crumbled to bits, getting bowled out at a total of 55 runs.
South Africa opted to bat first at the Newlands, Cape Town but their decision backfired. The Indian pacers spat fire, completely blowing away the Proteas with their mighty bowling.
Mohammed Siraj started the wreck job with Aiden Markram’s dismissal and there was no looking back for India from thereon.
Only two South African batters, David Bedingham (12) and Kyle Verreynne (15) scored in double digits. The highest partnership in the innings of 19 runs was formed by the duo only.
Siraj took a six-for, while Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar bagged two wickets each. Prasidh Krishna went wicketless.
South Africa’s score of 55 is now the third-lowest first-innings total at Cape Town in Test cricket.
