[Saba Sports News] On March 1, Sachin Tendulkar, the iconic cricketer, revealed a partnership between his foundation and the Inga Health Foundation to aid infants with deformities in Jammu and Kashmir. During a recent visit to the region, he engaged with children at a local hospital, later sharing the initiative on Instagram.
Tendulkar’s post reflected on the significance of smiling, mentioning that around 60,000 Indian children are born with conditions affecting their smiles each year. He explained how his foundation supports surgeries, like cleft lip and palate repairs, particularly highlighting their work at a center in Srinagar.
In his Instagram update, Tendulkar shared insights from his visit, emphasizing the collaborative efforts to restore smiles through medical intervention.
“We don’t often think about our ability to smile, as a gift. We consider it a given. There are a few, who struggle to express even this basic emotion. Nearly 60,000 babies in India are born every year with deformities that inhibit their smiles,” Sachin captioned the post.
“Through Sachin Tendulkar Foundation, we have been working with a wonderful set of doctors who strive to put a smile back on children’s faces, through cleft lip and palate surgeries. One of the centres we have been supporting is in Srinagar. During our trip to Jammu & Kashmir, we spent time in Inga Health Foundation’s hospital, interacting with doctors, children and their parents,” Sachin shared.
Additionally, he showcased his engagement with the local community, visiting a cricket bat manufacturer to promote Kashmir Willow and meeting with Amir Hussain Lone, the captain of Kashmir’s para cricket team.
Presently, Tendulkar was seen attending the pre-wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar. He maintains a close relationship with Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, the Reliance Industries Chairman and his wife, and continues to be associated with the Mumbai Indians IPL team, indicating his presence in the team’s dressing room for the upcoming season.
