[Saba Sports News] According to RN365, following their collision at the Dutch Grand Prix, Carlos Sainz has questioned Liam Lawson’s “way” of racing in F1. Although Sainz was deemed responsible for the Lap 27 incident and received a 10-second penalty – an accident that caused both drivers to suffer punctures and make immediate pit stops – the Williams driver insisted afterward that Lawson had provoked the situation. Sainz stated: “It’s clear from the many examples we’ve seen at Turn 1 that two cars can run side-by-side without making contact. It’s a corner that allows two cars to compete alongside each other without unnecessary contact. But with Liam, it always seems to be very difficult. He always seems to prefer a little bit of contact, risking car damage or a puncture, like we had, rather than accepting two cars running side-by-side. Hopefully, with more experience, that will change. He knows he risked losing too many points for an unnecessary move.” At the time of the incident, Sainz was frank over the radio: “He is so stupid! Oh my god! Always this guy! Always him!” He was referring to a collision earlier this season at the Spanish Grand Prix where Lawson hit Sainz’s teammate, Alex Albon, ultimately forcing Albon to retire.
