[Saba Sports News] Spanish media reported that one seriously injured victim underwent emergency surgery. Half an hour before the start of the El Clasico Catalan derby, a 34-year-old woman driving near the stadium crashed her car into a group of Espanyol fans, injuring multiple people. Currently, a 41-year-old teacher remains in intensive care due to severe injuries. The patient suffered from a brain hematoma and is currently in a coma after being struck on the head. The Catalan government’s health department updated the accident situation: two victims are still hospitalized, one in ICU, the other in general ward; fifteen others have been discharged. It was reported that the female driver, during her investigation, claimed she was in a panic state and mistakenly pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to lose control and hit the crowd. According to eyewitnesses, the woman initially had a minor collision, then was criticized and surrounded by the crowd, leading to a larger-scale collision. Furthermore, the woman provided proof of suffering from various mental illnesses; forensic experts will determine whether these conditions affected her thinking and behavior at the time. Police preliminarily consider this an accidental incident.
