[Saba Sports News] Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has treated every moment of the NBA Finals like it matters—and in Game 4, he proved why.
The 2025 Finals have been a back-and-forth battle between the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder, but Friday belonged to Gilgeous-Alexander. In a clutch performance at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, he scored 15 points in the final five minutes to lead OKC to a 111-104 win and tie the series.
It was the most clutch points scored in a Finals game this century.
Asked in the postgame press conference whether he felt the moment before taking over, SGA didn’t hesitate.
“Absolutely. That’s what it’s all about,” he said. “Winning, especially this time of the season, comes down to the moments… who makes winning plays on both ends of the floor.
“I relish those moments, I love those moments, good or bad. When I was a kid shooting on my driveway, I’d count down the clock for those moments, and now I get to live it. It’s a blessing.”
SGA finished with 35 points on 12-of-24 shooting, adding 3 assists, 3 steals, and going a perfect 10-for-10 from the line.
Critics may call him a “free throw merchant,” but even they couldn’t deny his heroics in the most important fourth quarter of his career. Meanwhile, one Pacers player melted down in the final minute—costing Indiana a chance to win.
