[Saba Sports News] What’s better than one Tesla Cybertruck? According to NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, it’s having two. Shaq recently acquired his second Cybertruck, but in true O’Neal fashion, it’s not just any model—it’s the first widebody Carbon Fiber version.
Both of Shaq’s Cybertrucks come from Effortless Motors, which specializes in making larger versions called the “Cyberbeast.” This second one even boasts massive 26-inch rims. As for why O’Neal needed a second truck? It was all about convenience. “I hate to sound soft, but I’m missing my Cybertruck and I don’t want to ship it from Vegas to Atlanta,” O’Neal explained. “So, I’m just going to go ahead and buy another one, so I’mma need another one.”
With a $500 million net worth, buying a second Cybertruck to avoid shipping costs isn’t a big deal for O’Neal. His connection with Effortless Motors actually began thanks to LeBron James. Earlier this year, Shaq shared how he first got in touch with the company after they tagged LeBron in a post about selling him a car.
“Can I tell you how I got my Cybertruck? Effortless Motors tagged that they sold LeBron a car,” O’Neal said. “LeBron got upset, saying, ‘You liar,’ or whatever. So, I thought if LeBron can fit in this car and he doesn’t want it, let me call and say, ‘Hey, Bron 6’9″/6’10,” let me see it.’”
Shaq’s approach to buying cars is simple: “Whenever I buy cars, I know I can’t fit, so I have to look at the backseat. If there’s six to eight inches, I can move the seat back.” When he called Effortless Motors, the salesperson introduced him to the Cyberbeast. “I was like, ‘What is that?’ He said, ‘Oh, it’s the Cyberbeast, a little bigger than the Cybertruck.’ So I asked, ‘How much?’ and he gave me the deal of a lifetime.” Shaq added, “I said, ‘You know what? If you bring it to Vegas, I’ll do it.’ And they brought it to Vegas.”
LeBron’s loss turned into Shaq’s gain. The incident O’Neal referred to happened in June when LeBron blasted Effortless Motors on Instagram for falsely claiming he bought a Bugatti from them, writing, “Stop the (cap)!! LIARS!! I don’t know y’all and I don’t even have that car. CLOUT CHASERS.”
While some might have been deterred from working with the company after such a mistake, Shaq wasn’t. And it turns out, trusting them was a good decision.
