[Saba Sports News] Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced the team’s squads for a home assignment scheduled against India, comprising three T20Is, three ODIs and two Tests.
Temba Bavuma will led the Test outfit, while he has been rested for the limited-overs leg, meaning Aiden Markram will be the ODI captain in his absence. Markram will lead the side in T20Is as well.
Along with Bavuma, Kagiso Rabada too will miss the white-ball series. Marco Jansen, Gerald Coetzee and Lungi Ngidi will skip the final T20I and the ODI series. They will instead feature in the first-class matches for their respective domestic teams.
Pacer Nandre Burger, batter David Bedingham and all-rounder Mihlali Mpongwana have received their maiden international call-ups.
Burger has been selected for all the three series. Mpongwana has been named in the ODI squad, while Bedingham along with Tristan Stubbs has earned maiden Test call-ups.
Wicketkeeper-batter Kyle Verreynne and all-rounder Wiaan Mulder have returned to Test and ODI squads respectively.
Notably, India’s tour of South Africa will begin with the T20I series on December 10 in Durban.
