[Saba Sports News] Golden State Warriors fans held their breath Friday as Steph Curry exited a preseason game early after injuring his right finger.
In the matchup against the Sacramento Kings at Chase Center, Curry played 16 minutes in the first half before jamming his finger late in the second quarter. He was later seen heading to the locker room with trainer Rick Celebrini and did not return. De’Anthony Melton started in his place for the second half.
The good news is that Curry’s injury is minor. X-rays were negative, and he’s listed as day-to-day. Curry even managed to go through his postgame workout routine. He finished with six points and four assists on 2/7 shooting.
Since Kevin Durant’s departure in 2019, Golden State has heavily relied on Curry, so they may consider resting him for the remainder of the preseason, especially given his significant contract.
