[Saba Sports News] As Stephen Curry competes in his first Olympic Games, he’s finally teaming up with LeBron James. Reflecting on their partnership since the All-Star game, Curry says LeBron has met every expectation.
“Playing with LeBron is exactly how I imagined it,” Curry said via FIBA. “He understands the game at such a high level. He’s an all-time great. When you get guys that know how to play on the court, usually good things happen.”
Their union this summer has been a highlight of the Paris Olympic games. Despite being former rivals, they’ve embraced the experience, even recreating an iconic Dream Team photo. Curry, 36, continues to shine, averaging 26.4 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game last season.
Over the years, Curry and LeBron have faced off many times, notably in four consecutive NBA Finals. Their rivalry is reminiscent of Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. However, in recent years, they’ve shown mutual respect and admiration.
Now, as Team USA teammates, they are working in sync. Curry’s shooting and playmaking have elevated the team, while LeBron continues to lead both on and off the court. His buzzer-beating layup over South Sudan kept Team USA’s undefeated record intact.
As they prepare for the Olympics, LeBron and Curry are making the most of their partnership. However, with LeBron’s 21-year career nearing its end and Curry’s contract expiring in 2026, it’s uncertain how much longer this legendary duo will be on the court.
