[Saba Sports News] Recently, the Leagues Cup Disciplinary Committee decided to suspend Luis Suárez for 6 matches for spitting at opposition personnel, while Sergio Busquets was suspended for 2 matches for violent conduct, to be served only in the Leagues Cup. In the recent Leagues Cup final, Inter Miami lost 0-3 to Seattle Sounders. After the match, a conflict broke out between the two sides. Suarez spat at a member of the opposition staff, and Busquets threw a punch at one Seattle midfielder. Additionally, Tomas Aviles was suspended for 3 matches for throwing multiple punches during the melee, and Seattle Sounders head coach Steven Lenhart was also suspended for 5 matches for violent conduct. According to Leagues Cup regulations, all four sanctioned individuals will also be fined for their actions. All suspensions must be served in the next edition or editions of the Leagues Cup until the punishment is fully completed. Major League Soccer (MLS) reserves the right to take further disciplinary action against the involved players and coaching staff. This means neither Suarez nor Busquets will be suspended in MLS regular season matches and can continue to play.
