[Saba Sports News] FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem recently discussed the F1 press conference held in London this week during a media interview, expressing his concern for the F1 racing scene and his hopes for its future development, particularly the desire to reintroduce V10 engines to increase interest in F1. Sulayem believes that V10 engines offer a more appealing sound and better driving experience compared to the current V6 engines. He mentioned that six-cylinder engines typically sound unremarkable, while turbochargers “suppress” the sound. In contrast, V10 engines can provide a more thrilling auditory experience. Additionally, regarding sustainability, using sustainable fuel with V10 engines can reduce emissions and align with F1’s long-term goal of achieving a net-zero carbon footprint. The FIA will also support teams and manufacturers in managing the costs of R&D expenditures. Reintroducing V10 engines, in my opinion, will enhance the spectacle and competitiveness of the races, and I look forward to seeing the return of V10 engines in future F1 events, providing audiences with a more thrilling and exciting racing experience.
