[Saba Sports News] After a disappointing end to the 2023-24 NBA season, changes for the Phoenix Suns seemed inevitable. Despite keeping their Big 3—Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker—they sought roster upgrades with limited assets.
They added Ryan Dunn and Oso Ighodaro, who impressed in the Summer League, and signed veterans Mason Plumlee and Monte Morris while re-signing Royce O’Neale and Josh Okogie. However, they lost Eric Gordon to the Philadelphia 76ers, leaving a gap in their 3-and-D lineup. Gordon’s departure creates a need for additional shooting around their star trio.
The Suns might rely on players like Grayson Allen and Royce O’Neale to maintain spacing, but they still need a reliable shooter. Gordon, who had a down year but remained valuable, cited the appeal of the 76ers’ organization and coach Nick Nurse as reasons for his move.
Gordon’s decision makes sense for him, but the Suns now face the challenge of finding another veteran guard/forward to bolster their rotation.
