[Saba Sports News] Suryakumar Yadav extended his congratulations to Indian captain Rohit Sharma for being the first to play in 150 T20I matches. This milestone was reached during the second T20I against Afghanistan at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on January 14. As the most experienced player in T20Is, Rohit has scored 3,853 runs at an average of 31.07, with four centuries and 29 fifties. The 36-year-old has led India to 40 T20I victories, boasting a win percentage of 75.47. He is just one win short of tying MS Dhoni’s record of 41 wins in 72 matches as captain.

Suryakumar used Instagram to post the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) emoji in honor of Rohit’s achievement. Notably, Suryakumar is currently out of the ongoing three-match series against Afghanistan due to an injury he sustained during India’s tour of South Africa.
In the second T20I against Afghanistan, Rohit Sharma chose to bowl first after winning the toss. Ravi Bishnoi struck early, taking out Rahmanullah Gurbaz. India quickly added the wickets of Ibrahim Zadran and Azmatullah Omarzai, reducing Afghanistan to 60/3. Gulbadin Naib then stepped up for Afghanistan with a valiant 57 off 35 balls, hitting five fours and four sixes before being dismissed by Axar Patel. Patel, claiming his 200th T20I wicket, helped keep Afghanistan to 172.
Arshdeep Singh was India’s standout bowler with figures of 3/32. Bishnoi and Dube also contributed with wickets. India’s batting response began shakily, losing Rohit Sharma for a duck and Virat Kohli for 29, both within the powerplay.
