[Saba Sports News] In the recently concluded European Championship group match, Hungary suffered a 1-3 defeat against Switzerland. Prior to the game, the team lineup announced revealed that Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai would start as captain. Notably, the 23-year-old Szoboszlai has now become the youngest captain in the history of the European Championship. Despite delivering one assist, Szoboszlai’s overall performance was considered average, and Hungary ultimately faced a tough start in the group stage. In recognition of his appointment, Liverpool tweeted a congratulatory poster, stating, “Szoboszlai takes the reins as captain for Hungary’s opening match of the 2024 European Championship, marking a tournament milestone.” Last summer, Liverpool acquired Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig for a fee of 70 million euros. Since then, he has appeared in 45 matches for Liverpool, scoring seven goals and providing four assists.
