[Saba Sports News] The U.S. Embassy in Malaysia recently posted on its official Facebook page that it had received Malaysian men’s singles badminton star Lee Zii Jia and his team. The group came to process U.S. visas, as Lee Zii Jia is set to travel to Los Angeles, USA, for an upcoming tournament.
A consular officer at the embassy stated that sport carries a unique power to strengthen ties between Malaysia and the United States. The embassy looks forward to seeing Lee Zii Jia showcase his prowess on courts in America. The post also included group photos of Lee and his entourage taken inside the embassy, titled From Kuala Lumpur to Los Angeles, sending best wishes for his upcoming competition.
Lee Zii Jia is scheduled to compete at the 2026 U.S. Open Badminton (Super 300) to be held in Fullerton, Los Angeles, in late June. He has set his long-term sights on the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, aiming to claim Malaysia’s first-ever Olympic gold medal in men’s singles badminton.
