[Saba Sports News] According to official reports from the Premier League, Manchester United is contemplating a reduction in the budget for the Disabled Supporters Association. It is reported that Manchester United is considering halving the budget allocated to the Disabled Supporters Association, which currently receives £40,000 annually. Although a final decision has not yet been made by Manchester United, they are indeed considering the feasibility of this proposal. Since Sir James Ratcliffe and his team took over Manchester United, the club has started implementing a series of cost-cutting measures. Their goal is to reallocate funds towards the first team through this initiative. Previously, 250 Manchester United staff members were laid off. In June, Manchester United announced a record revenue of £661 million, and if they continue to pursue cost-cutting measures, it is bound to provoke hostile reactions from fans. An anonymous insider commented, “It’s a disgrace. The numbers they are talking about are just a drop in the ocean; it feels like the club has lost its soul.” The Disabled Supporters Association has always been an important part of the club, and when you see how much money is wasted on changing coaches and unreasonable signings, it is hard to feel that such a decision is justifiable.
