Reportedly, the stolen jewelry was of high value, with the watch worth over €200,000 and the two rings each valued at over €60,000. These were personal items left behind in the locker room by members of the Turkish national team. After the incident, the security team quickly launched an investigation, and the police also got involved. The stolen watch and two rings have now all been recovered and returned to their owners, and at least one person has been arrested. However, the investigation is not over yet; the police are still confirming the identity of the arrested individual and determining whether they were stadium staff or someone who illegally entered the locker room area. We believe that one direct cause of this theft was player negligence post-match, leaving high-value personal items totaling €320,000 casually in the locker room. While it’s understandable that professional players, due to tight schedules and post-match focus on the game’s outcome, might be ignored with belongings, such high-value items should ideally be stored properly or carried personally.
