[Saba Sports News] The 2025 Formula One season has concluded, with Lando Norris claiming the world championship, while his teammate Oscar Piastri, after leading for most of the season, unfortunately slipped from first to third place. The various subtle emotions following the defeat and the controversies throughout the season have led to speculation: Has Piastri lost faith in the McLaren team? Will he leave the team in the 2027 season? Speculation has even arisen that he might move to Ferrari or fill a future vacancy at Red Bull.Some fans believe Piastri’s decline is linked to certain decisions made by the McLaren team. For instance, at the Melbourne Grand Prix, he was instructed to hold his position and abandon his pursuit of Norris; at the Imola Grand Prix, strategic differences allowed Norris to easily overtake him. By the time of the Hungarian Grand Prix, different strategies once again benefited Norris.The most controversial incident occurred at the Monza Grand Prix, where a mistake during a tire change cost Norris valuable time, and the team surprisingly instructed Piastri, who was in second place, to yield to his teammate. In my view, McLaren is currently one of the few top teams maintaining stability ahead of the new regulations in 2026: the driver lineup is stable, the management has not changed, and the power units continue to be supplied by Mercedes.In contrast, Ferrari is experiencing internal turmoil, Red Bull is undergoing a significant reshuffle in its power structure, Audi is facing growing pains as a new team, and the futures of Aston Martin and Alfa Romeo remain uncertain. If Piastri were to leave the team now, it would be akin to gambling and would be a rather unwise decision.
