[Saba Sports News] Following the sudden passing of his mother, Tristan Thompson has been granted temporary custody of his younger brother, who is unable to care for himself. A recent court hearing affirmed Tristan’s role as the guardian of 17-year-old Amari. The court also scheduled a November hearing to consider permanent guardianship.
Notably, Tristan was not physically present in court, with his attorney representing him via Zoom. This development was not surprising, as Tristan had filed for temporary guardianship a few weeks prior, and there were no opposing parties, including Amari’s father, who Tristan claims has been absent from his son’s life.
Amari’s father, Trevor Douglas Thompson, was not notified of the Wednesday hearing, as his whereabouts are currently unknown, and Tristan’s side asserts that he has had no involvement in Amari’s upbringing.
Given Amari’s inability to care for himself due to mental and physical disabilities, the issue of conservatorship will also be addressed as he approaches the age of 18. This move by Tristan is motivated by the desire to safeguard his brother’s well-being, especially in light of their mother Andrea’s sudden passing earlier this year. Amari has already been introduced to the KarJenners and will likely continue to receive their support.
Lastly, it was mentioned that there is approximately $103,000 in Andrea’s probate estate, although it is currently unavailable for distribution. Tristan will oversee this sum on Amari’s behalf.
As previously reported, several members of the Kardashian family quickly traveled to Toronto to support Tristan during Andrea’s funeral.
