[Saba Sports News] Before the U.S. elections, the Republican Party pushed for an investigation into the alleged anti-competitive behavior of F1 in blocking the Andretti-Universal team’s bid. In response, Dutch F1 journalist Jack Ploey reported on Ziggo Sport that with Republican candidate Donald Trump becoming the new U.S. president, F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali could be ousted from his position. Currently, Andretti team founder Michael Andretti has left Andretti Global, and F1 owner Liberty Media’s CEO Greg Maffei is also about to depart. Many insiders believe this is a behind-the-scenes reconciliation that could make it possible for the Andretti team to enter F1. In an interview with Italian magazine Autosprint, Andretti stated that he has fulfilled his civic duty and is pleased with Trump’s return to the White House. Additionally, Andretti acknowledged that he is quite familiar with Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr. With the help of Republicans, the Andretti team is making a full push towards entering F1.
