[Saba Sports News] Recently, England manager Thomas Tuchel spoke to the media about his decision not to call up Trent Alexander-Arnold for this international break. Tuchel stated: “I spoke with Alexander-Arnold on the phone. It wasn’t an easy conversation, but I wanted to tell him the situation personally. He understood and his attitude was very clear – he is desperately eager to return to the England national team and play for his country. Everything is still under consideration, but this was indeed a decision based on competitive factors. I did this to make the competitive atmosphere more intense as well. First and foremost, I believe a player like Alexander-Arnold needs to feel the trust and support from the coach, teammates, club, national team, and fans – he really needs that. Looking at Reece James’ performance in the last two training camps and his form with Chelsea during the Club World Cup, currently, his form is slightly better in that position. Afterwards, we chose Tino Livramento, firstly because he has excellent match rhythm, and secondly because he provides us with the option of playing on either flank in both attack and defense.”
