[Saba Sports News]Thomas Tuchel has officially begun his role as the head coach of the England national team. According to British media reports, Tuchel will also be present to watch this round’s Big Red Derby. Tuchel’s first match in charge will kick off on March 22, where England will face Albania. Reports indicate that Tuchel has started the player selection process, and his first evaluation as the England head coach will take place this weekend. It is said that Tuchel will be watching the Big Red Derby live, where players like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones, Jarell Quansah, Kobbie Mainoo, and Harry Maguire will hope to impress the new national team coach. Additionally, Tuchel has assembled his coaching staff, which includes fitness coach Meyer, assistant coach Anthony Barry, goalkeeping coach Henrique Hilario, and former Chelsea analysis chief James Melbourne. Although several coaching staff members have been confirmed, Tuchel still needs to appoint a Black coach, which is one of the commitments previously made by the FA. If Tuchel does not include a Black or ethnically diverse coach in the preparation team for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the FA’s earlier promise to provide top opportunities for other coaches will come under scrutiny.
