[Saba Sports News] The Turkish Football Association
has refuted rumors circulating in various Turkish media outlets claiming that
Stefan Kuntz, the coach of the Turkish national team, has been sacked. Earlier,
Turkish media reported on the team’s poor performance under Kuntz’s leadership,
including a recent disappointing 2-4 defeat in a friendly match. Turkish fans
expressed their discontent and called for the coach’s dismissal. During a press
conference following the match, Kuntz made a remark suggesting that the current
Turkey’s strength lags behind that of Japan, further fuelling dissatisfaction
among Turkish fans. They voiced their frustration in the stands, chanting,
“Kuntz, get out!” Kuntz, a renowned former German football star who
played for clubs such as Bochum, Kaiserslautern, and Besiktas, transitioned to
coaching after retiring and began coaching the Turkish national youth team.
