[Saba Sports News] Nearly a decade after the peak of the Boston Celtics-Miami Heat rivalry, Udonis Haslem still isn’t letting go.
Haslem has clashed with ex-Celtics for years, often responding fiercely to even the mildest criticisms of the Heat. And even when things seem quiet, he’s not afraid to stir the pot.
During a recent appearance on the Out The Mud podcast with former NBA stars Tony Allen and Zach Randolph, Haslem took another shot at Paul Pierce over comments made when Barack Obama was still in his first term as president.
“Paul… We gonna have to figure that out,” Haslem said. “I come from a place where you can’t say what you want to people. There come consequences with that. You talk like that at the park, the trunk is going to get popped and this s–t is going to get aired out.”
While his issues with Pierce remain, Haslem clarified that any past beef with Kevin Garnett has been settled. He also has no problem with the current Celtics roster.
“My beef is not with the current Celtics—Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, I got nothing but love for them boys,” Haslem said. “My beef ain’t even with KG. He said something the other day, and I was like, ‘You know what? Me and KG cool.’”
At this point, the Haslem-Pierce feud feels like a case of two stubborn veterans refusing to let go—like an NBA version of Grumpy Old Men.
