[Saba Sports News] In the 29th round of La Liga, Valencia defeated Sevilla 2-0 away from home. Notably, during the match, Valencia captain José Gayà was substituted after suffering two consecutive head collisions and was taken to the hospital for examination. In the 15th minute, Gayà clashed heads with Sevilla’s Juanlu Sánchez while competing for an aerial ball. He received medical treatment on the pitch after falling but continued to play. However, moments after play resumed, the two players collided heads again in another aerial challenge in the 19th minute, with both falling to the ground for medical checks. Gayà asked to be substituted in the 25th minute, having already suffered blurred vision. He was immediately taken to hospital for tests, with initial results showing no serious injuries. He is expected to be discharged and return to the team once given medical clearance.
The editor believes that Gayà suffered two very heavy collisions and felt dizzy; I hope he is okay. When I saw him go for the ball the second time, I thought this guy is extraordinary. He is Valencia’s captain and represents Valencia’s values and spirit. Gayà recently played his 400th match for the club and is a legend of the team.
