[Saba Sports News] After the collision incident between Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen and Mercedes driver George Russell in the recent F1 Spanish Grand Prix, Verstappen’s emotional behavior drew widespread attention. Recent reports indicate that Verstappen has admitted his mistake to the team, stating that the tire choice after the safety car deployment and the situation upon restarting made him feel “even more frustrated,” leading to actions that were incorrect and shouldn’t have occurred. Moreover, Verstappen was found guilty of dangerous driving following the collision with Russell, resulting in a deduction of 3 points from his Super License. This brings his total deductions over the past 12 months to 11 points, leaving him with just 1 point before reaching FIA’s “automatic ban line” of 12 points. According to regulations, Verstappen will regain part of his points on June 30th. Before then, the Canadian Grand Prix will take place; if he receives any further penalties in upcoming races, he may face a ban. Such a penalty would not only significantly impact his personal performance throughout the season but also potentially affect Red Bull Racing’s standing in the constructors’ championship.
