[Saba Sports News] At the 2021 F1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen retired from the race due to an incident. After getting out of the car, Verstappen angrily burst the rear tire of the race car. It turns out there is an untold story behind this. Recently, New Zealand driver Liam Lawson revealed the inside story during an interview. Lawson stated that during the race, the logistics staff of Red Bull mistakenly ordered the wrong shoe size for Verstappen; the spare shoes of his teammate Sergio Perez also did not fit him. Later, team boss Oliver sent a photo informing that his shoes had been sent to the Red Bull team, as he was the only driver with the same shoe size as Verstappen. Lawson revealed that the racing shoes were not even a Red Bull version but a regular pair of Puma racing shoes. Lawson jokingly remarked that Verstappen should have a nicer pair of racing shoes. In response, some fans teased that it’s no wonder Verstappen had such bad luck at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
