[Saba Sports News] Following the announcement of the new 2026 F1 rules, Max Verstappen from Red Bull Racing jokingly proposed an unconventional idea – whether the Formula 1 technical rules should include obstacles similar to those found in the popular video game, Mario Kart. The FIA recently unveiled the chassis regulations for the 2026 season, which accompany the power unit regulations already known since 2022. The key highlights include the introduction of active aerodynamics, enhanced electrical systems, and a new manual override mode (MOM) to replace the current DRS system. Verstappen believes that the changes made by the FIA mainly address energy usage on the straights and attempt to solve downshifting issues. However, he emphasizes that the effectiveness of the manual override mode remains uncertain, and caution should be exercised when considering the potential impact of the driver’s activation of the power-assist system.
