[Saba Sports News] Recently, F1 Dutch driver Max Verstappen was interviewed by the media and talked about the European Cup. He mentioned that he often sends Dutch team captain Virgil van Dijk a message before or after the games. The messages consist of simple greetings and wishes and do not provide any football-related advice since they know better what needs to be done or how to prepare. As the British F1 Grand Prix took place over the weekend, Verstappen couldn’t attend the race live in Germany, so he watched the semi-final between the Netherlands and England on TV. Although the Dutch team eventually lost, it was an exciting game. Verstappen also discussed the prospects for the Dutch national team’s performance in the 2026 World Cup, stating that the current Netherlands team may not be the strongest, but if the players can establish good chemistry, they can perform better. He emphasized that the team doesn’t necessarily need a superstar; what matters is having the right tactics. Verstappen believes they need to play more games together instead of frequently substituting players.
