[Saba Sports News] According to reports
from British media, Chelsea are planning to acquire a piece of land adjacent to
their stadium, valued at £50 million, in order to expand and develop the
Stamford Bridge stadium. However, the land in question includes the historic
house of Sir Oswald Ernald Mosley, 6th Baronet, which currently serves as a
residence for approximately 100 veterans and war widows. Many of these
individuals are determined to remain in their homes and are now seeking an
injunction to prevent the Storr Charitable Trust, the entity managing the
property, from selling the site. The veterans argue that selling the land would
undermine the local community and negatively impact residents, particularly
those who are disadvantaged and have served their country. Local residents have
filed an application with the Wandsworth County Court, requesting an injunction
until the trustees can demonstrate that they have fulfilled their obligations
appropriately. This development undoubtedly poses a significant setback for
Chelsea.
