[Saba Sports News] German driver Sebastian Vettel made history with Red Bull, winning four consecutive F1 Drivers’ Championships from 2010 to 2013. However, after being outperformed by new teammate Daniel Ricciardo in 2014, Vettel moved to Ferrari. At Ferrari, he was eager to help the team end its long championship drought, but he was unable to shake off Lewis Hamilton’s dominance. In the 2020 season, he was outpaced by new teammate Charles Leclerc and subsequently decided to transfer to the new team Aston Martin. At Aston Martin, Vettel outperformed teammate Lance Stroll but remained away from the championship podium. After two seasons, Vettel decided to retire. Last season, there were rumors about a possible comeback for Vettel following Hamilton’s departure from Mercedes. Recently, Vettel addressed this speculation in an interview, stating that retiring from F1 does not mean he would never return, but one can never predict the future. However, former F1 driver and Sky Sports commentator David Coulthard believes that the 37-year-old Vettel will not make a comeback, as the stopwatch does not lie, and his speed had been declining in the last years of his career, suggesting that he would only be slower now.
