[Saba Sports News] Victor Wembanyama pushed the United States to their limits in the Summer Olympics men’s basketball final on Saturday. Despite France’s 98-87 loss to Team USA, the San Antonio Spurs star issued a strong warning to the NBA after the game.
Wembanyama led France with 26 points and added 7 rebounds in the effort. After receiving his silver medal in Paris, he made it clear that he’s just getting started.
“I’m learning, and I’m worried for the opponents in a couple of years,” Wembanyama said.
During the Olympic tournament, Wembanyama averaged 15.8 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game while playing nearly 30 minutes per game. This performance follows an impressive rookie season with the Spurs, where he averaged 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, and led the NBA with 3.6 blocks per game.
At just 20 years old, Wembanyama’s potential is undeniable. His experience in Paris will likely fuel his motivation, and his best years are still ahead.
