[Saba Sports News] According to Chilean media reports, Arturo Vidal and his teammates were arrested on suspicion of sexual assault early Monday local time, and the prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation into them. The report states that Colo-Colo first-team players were celebrating a birthday at a bar with four women accompanying them; however, only three left afterward, with one approximately 22-year-old girl remaining behind. According to the victim’s sister, the young girl who stayed not only drank alcohol but was also likely drugged, prompting her to seek help from patrol officers. The governor confirmed that there is indeed a sexual assault allegation against Colo-Colo players and that an investigation is underway. Vidal was taken to the police station and subsequently released; currently, no players are detained. The governor stated that bringing Vidal to the police station is part of the investigation. The 37-year-old Vidal joined Chilean team Colo-Colo earlier this year and has played for teams such as Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Juventus, and Inter Milan, helping the Chilean national team win two Copa America titles.
