[Saba Sports News] 31-year-old Viktor Axelsen recently attended a sponsor meet-and-greet in Kuala Lumpur. During a conversation with the CEO of Monitor ERP Southeast Asia, Axelsen revealed his journey and insights in the badminton career. Axelsen said that before last year’s Paris Olympics, due to a recurring back injury, timely recovery became urgent. Being able to overcome various challenges and successfully defend the men’s singles gold medal at the Paris Olympics was a dream come true, and he was very grateful. Axelsen revealed that during the Paris Olympics, he only focused on the matches on the court, without thinking about external pressures, avoiding excessive mental consumption. Eating well and sleeping well were his secrets to success. When talking about Malaysia, Axelsen mentioned that his first visit to Malaysia was in 2010 for the Thomas Cup, where he was 16 years old and temporarily replaced the injured Hans Kristian Vittinghus. Since then, he has made many friends in Malaysia. This time, while attending the event, he hoped to have the opportunity to explore Kuala Lumpur. Previously, he had only traveled between the hotel and the stadium during competitions, without much chance to know and understand the city.
