[Saba Sports News] According to La Liga president Javier Tebas, piracy is a serious issue that cannot be ignored. However, during an event, Tebas directed his criticism towards Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior. Tebas stated, “If Vinicius is in Madrid, and I believe he is in Madrid, then this is piracy. In Spain, watching the Champions League must be done through Movistar, and he definitely has active behavior outside of Movistar’s coverage; he pirated the match.” Tebas was referring to Vinicius posting images of the match against Liverpool on social media, which included the logo of Brazilian TNT Sports. It is reported that La Liga has sent a letter to Real Madrid warning about this behavior, but it is expected that the Spanish giants will not respond definitively. Tebas also criticized operators and broadcasting companies, stating that only a few in the industry realize the extent of the harm caused by piracy, but more and more people in the industry are becoming aware of this. The same goes for clubs, as losing broadcasting rights means losing investment.
