[Saba Sports News] The Golden State Warriors have completed their roster by adding Rodney McGruder, a former Detroit Pistons swingman. McGruder is expected to be a bench player for the Warriors, but it’s noteworthy that he’s joining a team where Draymond Green publicly criticized him after a game in 2021.
In January 2021, during a heated matchup between the Warriors and the Pistons, McGruder stepped in to defend Wayne Ellington, which greatly upset Green. Green vented his frustration during a press conference, questioning McGruder’s newfound tough-guy persona and the overall trend of toughness in the league.
Interestingly, the Warriors opted to sign McGruder over Juan-Toscano Anderson, who was also a contender for the final roster spot. Despite Dwight Howard being a favorite to secure a spot, the Warriors decided against adding another big man to their lineup.
