[Saba Sports News] According to recent reports from English media, Tottenham Hotspur’s German player Timo Werner, who has been suffering from a thigh injury for four weeks, is isolated within the club. Tottenham didn’t even include him in their Europa League squad. Moreover, in December, manager Antonio Conte openly criticized Werner: “His performance is unacceptable.” This suggests the club will not activate Werner’s buyout clause, and he will return to RB Leipzig at the end of the season. However, RB Leipzig currently doesn’t have a place for him. Sources indicate Werner might join the MLS team New York Red Bulls directly after returning to Leipzig this summer. Werner participated in numerous matches for Tottenham this season but had fewer starts, becoming more of a rotational player than a mainstay forward. In my view, Werner’s performance in Tottenham has indeed been unsatisfactory. Whether from game data, managerial comments, or team status, he needs to work harder to improve and earn trust from Tottenham and its fans.
