Sports News] Following the official announcement by Bundesliga RB Leipzig
regarding Timo Werner’s loan to Tottenham Hotspur, Werner gave an interview to
the media. During the interview, he confidently stated, “I’ve joined a big
club, Tottenham, and my goal is to win the championship.” However, some
fans ridiculed his remarks. Numerous comments on social media platforms
expressed disbelief, with fans questioning Werner’s awareness of the team he is
joining. It is understandable why fans reacted this way, as Tottenham has not
won a major championship since their League Cup victory in 2008. Although they
reached the Champions League final and made appearances in the League Cup final,
Tottenham has been unable to secure a title. It is worth noting that Werner has
prior experience in the Premier League. He joined Chelsea in July 2020 and
contributed 23 goals in 89 appearances for them, helping them win the UEFA
Champions League, European Super Cup, and Club World Cup during the 20-21
season.
