Sports News] In the 15th round of the Premier League, Tottenham hosted West Ham
at home and suffered a 1-2 defeat after initially taking the lead. Tottenham’s
performance in the league has been lackluster, with only one point earned in
the last five rounds. They have also become the first team in Premier League
history to score in five consecutive games without a win. During the match,
West Ham fans took the opportunity to mock Tottenham by chanting “European
Champions” and adding, “You can never sing like this in the
future.” West Ham have a history of two European championships, winning
the EEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in the 1964/65 season and the European Conference Cup
in the 22/23 season. On the other hand, Tottenham were the first English team
to win an European Competition title, claiming the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in the
1962-63 season. They have also won two Europa League titles (71/72 season,
83/84 season), finished as runners-up in the Europa League in the 73/74 season,
and reached the final of the Champions League in the 18/19 season. The actions
of the West Ham fans were seen as a heartfelt and taunting gesture towards
Tottenham, given the contrasting European success of the two clubs.
