[Saba Sports News] The structure of the Red Bull Racing team is distinct from other F1 teams in that, in addition to the usual team principal and technical director roles, they also have a special advisor, Helmut Marko. Last season, the Red Bull team experienced internal strife, with star driver Max Verstappen publicly stating that he would leave the team if Marko did. This indirectly highlights Marko’s status within the Red Bull team. At 81 years old, he is currently the oldest employee in F1. What motivates him to stay in such a competitive environment at such an advanced age? Recently, Marko revealed the reason in an interview: he aims to carry on the spirit of Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz. Marko stated that while no one can truly replace Mateschitz’s role, he is always striving to do so. Since the establishment of the Red Bull team, Marko has been guiding young talents into F1 through the team. Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen, both of whom have won the F1 World Championship four times, are successful examples of Marko’s talent nurturing.
