[Saba Sports News] Since entering F1, Dutch driver Max Verstappen has continuously sparked various controversies on the track. From the sensational collision with Lewis Hamilton to multiple conflicts with Lando Norris last season, Verstappen’s race style is often aggressive and uncompromising. Even though Norris is a good friend in his personal life, when it comes to racing interests, Verstappen fights fiercely for every inch. In the United States and Mexico Grand Prix last season, Verstappen’s driving went beyond the bounds of the competition, and he was penalized with two 10-second penalties in one race. After the race, many F1 media outlets criticized Verstappen heavily, especially the British media, claiming he doesn’t deserve to be in F1. Former F1 steward Johnny Herbert suggested that Verstappen’s racing style is influenced by his father’s advice, which is based on the controversial tactics used by Michael Schumacher in his time. As is well-known, Schumacher was also a driver who would stop at nothing to win, even resorting to deliberate collisions.
