[Saba Sports News] This summer, the transfer of Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak became a major controversy, with both the player and the club issuing public statements that showed their conflict. Notably, Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum moved from Newcastle to Liverpool in 2016. ESPN unearthed an interview from that time when Wijnaldum spoke about his transfer. At the time, he said, “At the end of last season, I said I wouldn’t force the transfer. When Liverpool offered me a deal, I made up my mind to come here, but I didn’t intend to push it hard because I was grateful for everything Newcastle and its fans had done for me.” After this post, Wijnaldum himself commented, saying, “This was something I said nearly 10 years ago before my move to Liverpool. Why do you make it sound like I’m talking about Isak’s decision? This is between Isak, Newcastle, and Liverpool, don’t drag me into it. Thanks.” What do you think Newcastle and Liverpool fans have to say about this?
