[Saba Sports News] Over the past few seasons, Toto Wolff and former Red Bull principal Christian Horner have frequently clashed on the F1 track. Now that Horner is no longer involved in the sport, Mercedes’ CEO and team principal, Wolff, has become the longest-serving F1 team principal. And he once again expressed his nostalgia for his old rival. Wolff told the media, “In a way, I do miss him. We’ve been battling for 12 years. He was often a jerk, and I’ve told him that. But he was controversial and always stirred things up. He was one of the main figures here. His performance and team results were obvious. From that perspective, it feels like a piece of the past is missing. Among the team principals, there aren’t many old faces left. So it feels a bit lonely.” Earlier, Wolff had made similar comments, and when asked if he would continue in the sport, he laughed and said, “Well, if I do a bad job, I’ll have to find someone else to replace me, then sit on a sun lounger and give the team a hard time.” This Austrian’s situation is different from Horner’s, as he owns 33% of the Mercedes team.
