[Saba Sports News] The
news of Lewis Hamilton’s potential transfer from Mercedes to Ferrari has
generated significant buzz in the sports world this week. Yesterday,
Mercedes-Benz CEO Toto Wolff was interviewed by the media and provided insights
into the details of Hamilton’s move to Ferrari. Wolff disclosed that Hamilton
had no plans to leave the team before Christmas and that he had heard some
transfer rumors before receiving official notification from Hamilton. On
Wednesday morning, Hamilton visited Toto Wolff at his home in Oxford and
personally informed him of his intention to join Ferrari in 2025. The meeting
at Wolff’s home had been arranged well in advance. A few days prior, Hamilton
had returned to the Mercedes factory to customize exclusive seats for the new
F1 car. On Thursday at 2 pm, Hamilton held a virtual meeting with all team
members and announced his departure. Meanwhile, Toto Wolff was in Milan, Italy,
for a meeting with the Mercedes engineering team and F1 tire supplier Pirelli.
Some fans have poked fun at Wolff, suggesting that he did not anticipate
Hamilton’s departure from the team.
