[Saba Sports News] At the recently concluded F1 Canadian Grand Prix, Red Bull Racing became the center of attention due to a highly controversial protest. This issue stemmed from disputes during the safety car phase at the Canadian round. The collision between Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri caused the safety car, with Max Verstappen and George Russell placed second and first respectively. Under the lead of the safety car, Russell suddenly braked to control the temperature, causing Verstappen to momentarily surpass him. Russell then complained to the team radio about Verstappen’s violation, while Verstappen explained it was a passive reaction to the sudden braking ahead. After the race, Red Bull Racing accused Russell of unnecessary braking and “unsportsmanlike conduct.” However, FIA rejected the protest from Red Bull Racing, stating there was insufficient evidence. Team Mercedes’ leader Toto Wolff dismissed this protest action, criticizing Red Bull Racing’s behavior as “petty.” Wolff emphasized that true racers do not support such “uncompetitive” strategies, suggesting Verstappen should quickly transfer and distance himself from Red Bull Racing.
