[Saba Sports News] French football legend Zinedine Zidane attended a pop culture exhibition in Geneva, Switzerland last Saturday. However, the event ultimately sparked public outrage among fans due to organizational chaos and “false advertising.” It is reported that the organizers had previously heavily promoted the event, promising “unique” close interactions between Zidane and fans, including an autograph session, a Q&A segment, and even a football match “where he would play against fans.” Yet, fans at the scene found the promises severely scaled back: the so-called “match against fans” turned into a game between Zidane and a local women’s football team; and the crucial autograph session and Q&A segment were “outright cancelled.” This completely dashed the expectations of the fans on-site (including those with VIP passes). Angry crowds had several verbal altercations with staff, shouting “You are liars!” and “I want a refund!”. A father who spent €1,300 on three VIP tickets angrily stated that they not only failed to get close to Zidane but also did not receive the promised private lounge and lunch, with staff even unable to provide directions. Facing approximately 50 complaints received, the event director blamed the cancellation on safety concerns. He claimed that the situation nearly spiraled out of control as soon as Zidane appeared, stating he saw “a child crushed against the barriers,” “some people jumping over the barriers,” and even “a dad throwing his son towards Zidane.”
