Sports News] According to foreign media reports, the Bahrain sovereign wealth
fund holding company has acquired full ownership of McLaren, increasing its
shareholding ratio from 60% to 100%. This includes the acquisition of McLaren’s
headquarters and Formula One racing factory. This increased investment from
Middle Eastern capital is expected to provide significant support for McLaren’s
future development. In recent years, McLaren has faced financial challenges and
began selling equity in its F1 team in 2020. The decision to sell a portion of the
business was reportedly influenced by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic,
which led to supply chain disruptions and reduced market demand. The Bahrain
Sovereign Wealth Fund Holding Company is a subsidiary of the Bahrain government
and focuses on investments in various sectors, including finance, industry,
real estate, and tourism.
