Both Kohli and Gambhir were previously involved in a heated altercation during an IPL 2023 match between Lucknow Super Giants and RCB. This incident led to the BCCI taking strict action, imposing a fine of 100% match fee on both players. Additionally, during the 2013 season, tensions flared between the two during an RCB vs KKR game, where Gambhir, the KKR captain, gave a send-off to Kohli, who was leading RCB.
However, the scenes during the current clash indicate that the duo has put their past animosities aside and reconciled. Meanwhile, Kohli continued his impressive form in IPL 2024 by scoring a remarkable 83* (59) against KKR. Thanks to his innings, RCB posted a competitive total of 182/6 in their allotted 20 overs.
