[Saba Sports News] The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) members have planned a two-day meet in Bali, Indonesia with the Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled on January 31.
As reported by Cricbuzz, the agenda of the meeting will revolve around the Asia Cup 2025 apart from election talks.
The upcoming Asia Cup is likely to be held in the T20 format. The tournament is yet to find its host. Oman and the UAE are the frontrunners to host the upcoming edition of the competition. However, for that to happen, the ACC would have to amend the clause which gives the hosting rights to only full member ICC nations.
Notably, the UAE hosted the event in 2018 and 2022 on behalf of India and Sri Lanka.
Disney Hotstar has the ACC media rights currently. However, the ACC has invited top broadcasters for a dinner on January 30, signalling a shift in holding of the media rights.
In another talking point, the future of the ACC president Jay Shah will be discussed. He could contest for the position of the ICC chairman. Incase he gets elected, ACC would have to conduct an election for bringing a new president to power.
